Eng. Fredrick Odilo Wafula has been elected the Busia County Assembly Speaker after getting 44 votes in the first round, trouncing his closest opponent Roselinda Barasa who garnered 4 votes.
Edwin Wafula trailed in the race after receiving 2 votes in the exercise that was conducted by Assembly Clerk Allan Mbuka yesterday.
Odilo, the Managing Director of SOW Construction Engineers Limited and vice chair of KNCCI Busia Chapter, is taking over from Bernard Wamalwa.
The newly elected Speaker holds a Bachelor of Technology from Egerton University and a Master in Project Management from the University of Nairobi.
Malaba Central Ward MCA Ronald K.B. Ochalu was elected Deputy Speaker.
