Ida Odinga’s bodyguard shot dead in Kisumu

A bodyguard of Ida Odinga, wife to Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga, has been shot dead today morning by unknown assailants in Kisumu.

Barrack Jeraha, one of the bodyguards of Mrs. Odinga, was shot at Mamboleo area in Kisumu West Sub-county at around 5 am, Nyanza Regional Police boss Karanja Muiruri confirmed.

Mr. Muiruri said investigations are underway to determine who and why the bodyguard was shot dead.

The security guard’s body has been taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

A national media reported that Mrs. Ida is safe for she was not in Kisumu when the incident occurred, and the guard was off duty.
