A fire that erupted last night at Sikusi Secondary School in Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County, consumed one dormitory and destroyed property worth hundreds of thousands of money.
No student was injured in the inferno that was reported last night as efforts by students and the school community to salvage property were futile.
Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga visited the school and encouraged the students help them purchase some of their belongings that were destroyed in the fire.
“To the students and Sikusi Secondary fraternity, I stand behind you with all my support, my strength and good wishes following the fire outbreak. I will work hand in hand with the school administration to ensure that the we get a quick solution to the affected students,” he said.
He finished by buying them maandazi for breakfast.
