Mautuma Ward Member of the County Assembly (MCA), Charles Anyona, has warned thieves stealing from people’s maize that their days are numbered.
Anyona has expressed his views on the rate at which cases of thieves stealing maize from farms have become rampant.
“I have heard about this vice that is rampant in Mautuma and, together with security agencies, we’re not going to sleep until thieves are brought to the book,” he said.
The leader expressed disappointment at how people find it so easy to reap where they did not sow, not caring about the toil farmers go through in growing their produce.
He has also warned his residents against selling maize at a throwaway price.
“Please, my people, next year is unpredictable; you’re selling maize now, but the price will rise next year. Keep that maize for next year’s usage. Avoid it completely, avoid cartels who are buying your maize cheaply,” he said.
