Family mourns Kenyan nurse killed by patient in the US

A family in Kenya is mourning the death of their daughter who was attacked by a patient she was attending to at a mental facility in Northern Carolina, USA.

Jane Onkundi, a mental healthcare nurse was attacked, was attacked by James Gone, 47, who stabbed her with a knife.

Jane’s family expressed their concern on why the hospital did not provide a suitable environment for workers by ensuring safety is prevailed in the hospital.

“We’re not happy at all. A hospital should have safety all around. It hurts to lose a beloved one in such  circumstances,” Andrew Nyabwari, a son-in-law, said.
