Former Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss George Kinoti is a man under fire as four officers attached to the Special Service Unit appear in court probably today to answer murder charges among them killing of two IT experts of Inidian origin.
The four police officers were arrested on Friday evening and will be facing a serious case that is likely to implicate Mr. Kinoti and Special Service Unit (SSU) director Pius Gitari as the State seeks to unravel the dilemma surrounding extrajudicial killings and forced appearances.
Preliminary investigations reveal that a senior officer attached to the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) tracked and monitored the movement of the two Indian nationals. Bones, clothes and belts strongly believed to belong to the two executed IT experts and their driver were on Thursday evening found in the Aberdare Forest.
The experts are said to have been hunted down, kidnapped and killed prior to the August 9 General election. They were in the country to assist with election preparations of a certain political party.
