Residents of Lwandeti Market siphoning fuel after a petrol tanker overturned this afternoon/Facebook
Hundreds of residents of Lwandeti Market along the Eldoret-Webuye thronged a scene to siphon fuel from a tanker which overturned at the shopping center this afternoon.
In a video shared on social media, residents can be seen rushing to the scene carrying jerrycans, while, in a photo, others comfortably line up to fill their containers.
Netizens have expressed dismay for the residents lack of caution despite the possibility of such actions leading to catastrophes like the one witnessed in 2009 when an overturned fuel tanker burst into flames and burnt hundreds of people who had gone to siphon oil in Sachangwan, Nakuru County.
