Senegal puts hosts Qatar at the edge after 3-1 win

Senegal has put itself in a better position to qualify for the next round.

Senegal today evening delivered the first win for the continent of Africa after beating hosts Qatar 3-1 in the second round of the group stages in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Senegal went to the break leading 1-0 after Boulaye Dia capitalized on the Qatar defense mistake at the 41st minute. Famara Diedhiou put the Senegalese further ahead after converting a corner kick at the 48th minute.

The hosts got there only goal through the substitute Muntari at the 77th minute, but Bamba Dieng would seal Senegal’s win after scoring in the 84th minute.

Senegal is now waiting on the results between Netherlands and Ecuador in a match kicking off at 7 PM to know its position on the Group A table as Qatar faces the axe as the competitions advance.

Later today at 10 PM, England will be facing the USA in Group B second round encounter.
