Mwamba Location and Mugunga Sub-location in Lumakanda Ward, Lugari Constituency, have received a new chief and assistant chief respectively.
Lugari Sub-county Deputy County Commissioner, Moses Gitaru, said the two areas were gazetted to enjoy local national leadership.
Evelyne Chivini was elected assistant chief of Mugunga Sub-location and Edwin Nashirove chief of Mwamba.
“The two areas were gazetted in the Kenyan Gazette so that services can come closer. We advertised the vacancies and called for an interview and this two emerged the best. Today, were are introducing them to you officially,” Mr. Gitaru said and urged the two leaders to serve the people diligently.
Mwamba Chief Edwin Nashibore asked residents to work closely with him for their benefit.
“I am willing and ready to work with security agencies in Lugari lead by the Deputy County Commission to make sure our people are safe,” he said and at the same time giving a stun warning to drunkards and illegal brewing.
On her part, Mugunda assistant chief Evelyne Chivini assured her residents that she will not be biased and she will serve them equally.
“I want to tell you in front of my leaders, I will serve you well. Your advise will be highly welcomed in my office,” she said.
