Lugari, Kakamega County — Two bodies of men who went missing last week have been found in different incidents under unclear circumstances.
In the first incident, the body of a 60-year-old man was discovered in his house in Angayu Village in Chekalini Ward.
The deceased, Kennedy Muliande, who stays alone, was last seen on Thursday before his body was found decomposing on Saturday afternoon by Tyson Mulalu, a neighbor.
“I came here in the morning and tried to call him but there was no response, I went back home and returned in the afternoon and again when I called he didn’t answer. When I pushed the door it opened and I was shocked to find his lifeless body lying on the bed,” Mulalu said as reported by West FM.
Family members said they suspect something behind the death after finding blood on his bed.
The body was taken to Kimbilio Mortaury by Lumakanda police as investigations commence.
Body dumped in sugarcane plantation in Matete
In the second incident, the body of a 45-year-old man was found dumped in a sugarcane plantation in Sibale Village of Chevaywa Ward, Matete.
The body of the man identified as Bernard Mukonambi was discovered by a passer-by on Saturday morning.
Chevaywa Location chief Alex Goricho said the man was last seen in the company of friends on Tuesday before the incident.
His family had reported about his missing at the Matete Police Station on Tuesday.
“The sugarcane is still very short, just about two feet and the place where the body was discovered is near the road and visible. People have been passing there without seeing it, we suspect the body was dumped there at night,” Mr. Goricho said as reported by West FM.
The body was taken to the Webuye Mortuary in Bungoma County by Matete Police as investigations commence.
