Lugari Ward residents are eager to know the verdict of the court petition pitting Lugari Ward Member of the County Assembly (MCA), Grey Moi, and his opponent in the August 9 election, William Libombolo Makhalanya.
Mr. Makhalanya filed a case in the Kakamega Law Courts in October challenging the election of Mr. Moi on grounds that the process was marred with irregularities and therefore the poll was not free and fair.
He argued that some officials of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in some polling stations were involved in rigging the poll in the favor of his opponent.
On Monday, during the launch of the Lugari NG-CDF Football Tournament at Panpaper grounds in Lugari Ward, Mr. Moi revealed that the case does not hinder him from delivering to his people.
The MCA revealed that the judgment is out soon and he hopes to emerge the winner.
The judgement will be out before January 11, 2023.
In the interview with the Western Kenya Times, the leader says he has plans laid down for service delivery to the people of Lugari Ward, including mending feeder roads and nurturing young talents.
