Postmortem reveals what killed Edwin Chiloba

The LGBTQ activist’s body was found stashed in a metal box along a road in Uasin Gishu County.

The late Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo alias Chiloba, an LGBTQ activist and popular model-cum-designer, died after lacking air inside his body for a long period of time.

In a postmortem exercise conducted on his body on Wednesday morning by government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor, the internal organs were discovered to have collapsed as a result of lacking sufficient oxygen supply.

This was determined after three pairs of socks were discovered stuffed inside Chiloba’s mouth, preventing air from entering his body and causing suffocation and death.

Speaking to journalists after the exercise, Dr. Johansen Oduor further said that samples had been taken for further investigation, and the results are expected to be out in a period of 3-4 months.

Chiloba, was found murdered and his body stuffed in a metal box and dumped at Hurlingham Village near Kipkaren, in the outskirts of Eldoret on January 3rd.

The family of the slain LGBTQ activist has slated his burial for January 14th, at Sergoit Village in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
