Kakamega is among counties with the most faithful men in Kenya, a new study by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KEBS) now shows.
In the report dubbed the Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (KDHS) 2022, Garissa (2%), Turkana (5%), Kericho (2%) and Kirinyaga (1.6%) are the other counties in which men have fewer sexual partners.
Residents of Migori, Murang’a, Narok, Mombasa, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Embu counties recorded the highest percentage of men with multiple sexual partners, with 35% admitting to having sex with a person who was not their wife or partner in the past year.
The study revealed that 45% used a condom during their last sexual intercourse.
“Of those with more than one partner in the last 12 months, 24% of women and 45% of men reported using a condom during their last sexual intercourse,” the report said.
