One man has been arrested as his accomplices manage to escape after they were found cutting into and stealing pieces of railroad metal at Navava Village in Lwandeti Location in Lugari.
Isack Khawoya from Froi in Webuye East Sub-county was among the three ambushed by police officers from Chimoi Police Post, who were cutting into pieces of the discarded railway line metal at around 5:00 a.m. this morning.
Lwandeti chief Mr. Thomas Luvonga shared a message that said two of the suspects escaped through a sugarcane plantation, but Isack was cornered and arrested, according to a report from the Chimoi Police Post filed under OB No. 04/16/01/2023 at 7:15 a.m. The arrested suspect identified his accomplices as Kennedy Wanyonyi anf Martic Lumasai.Police recovered six peices of metal which will be used as exhibits when the suspects is arraigned before court.
