Tension has gripped Webuye town and its environs after a night guard was killed on Monday night.
The guard who was manning a premise known as Waroju Business was found dead with his body lying in a pool of blood.
According to police reports seen by the Western Kenya Times, the robbers could have been armed with crude weapons.
The thieves managed to steal tv sets, alcohol and car washing machine.
At the time of going to the press, top officers drawn from Webuye East and Webuye West police headquarters were still at scene of crime compiling possible evidence before they launch for manhunt.
Reports also show that several other areas such as Catholic area and site and service were raided and several goods stolen.
The incident has sent Webuye residents into panic mode calling security apparatus to boost night patrols. The residents also want the County Government of Bungoma to repair street lighting which have been useless for two years
At the same time, Matulo ward MCA Stephen Simiyu has called on relevant authorities in the area to beef up night security.
