Lwanda Lugari Secondary School in Lugari Constituency is at risk of closure due to the prolonged problem of water shortage.
Mr. Kahiga Wilfridah, the principal, said the current drought and the rocky nature of the land where the school lies has rendered access to water difficult.
The school doesn’t have any reliable sources of water to sustain its activities.
“It is making it hard to operate without water, forcing us to use an animal-driven cart for water transportation. We had a few tanks, which are now drained. We are calling upon the government to help us get a long-lasting solution for this issue of water,” she said.
The water problem is also affecting the community around.
