A smile has finally landed on the face of Dominic Mukaya and his sister Tracy Naova from Mautuma Ward who had resorted to burning charcoal and washing clothes to raise fees to join Form One.
It took the efforts of Matuma area chief Pamela Kulali and Macho Mixed Secondary School principal Francisca Jigonge to help the two children to secure a chance for their future after the Western Kenya Times published their story.
“For any society to grow, education must be in the frontline. Children must get quality education and change the situation,” she said.

The school principal madam Francica Jigonge, on her side, said she will cooperate with other teachers to ensure the two get quality education.
Dominic thanked the two good Samaritans for heading to their plea after being neglected for scoring marks considered to be too low to be sponsored in secondary school.
Dominic scored 174 marks while his sister got 199 after sitting their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education in 2022.

“I am happy now. I would like to thank area chief Pamela Kulali for her kind heart, and I promise to work hard and make her and my family happy. I come from a humble background, and I know getting an education can save us from that situation,” Dominic said.
Tracy expressed her happiness and promised to work hard for a better tomorrow.
