Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera has said Kenya still has the ability to finance public education for its citizens.
The one-term lawmaker emphasized that the dream has yet to be actualized because of the misuse of public resources.
Mr. Nabwera was saying this during an interview at a local media station.
“I have looked at this economy; the country can afford proper public education; we waste money on unnecessary things,” Nabii said, as quoted by the Star.
The MP added that he will move a motion to push the government to allocate more funds to school feeding programs.
“We’ll be asking the government to add more money to our school feeding programs and increase from two million to four million people so that all children in areas that are starving can get a hot meal in school. We can afford it,” he said.
