President William Ruto has, according to reports in the media, introduced mandatory fasting for all workers at State House.
Reports have it that the changes are yet to be made official and that State House officials will not be provided with or allowed to come with food on Wednesdays to ‘enforce’ the religious act.
“Forcing public servants to fast is an illegality. It is unconstitutional. This is not even fasting. It’s withdrawing people’s right to eat,” Pauline Njoroge, a blogger who leads at the side of the Opposition, is quoted from her social media posts reacting on the allegations.

Rumors also have it that the Public Service Commission (PSC) would employ 100 intercessors whose duty would be to pray for the counties and the country.
A section of Kenyans have taken to social media to weigh in on the allegations, with others reacting against such a possibility.

“The rains in South Rift and Gusii Nyanza are here. The long drought spells are over. Finally, the Green nation is back. Hope State House intercessors will NOT claim credit. We don’t need those intercessors, someone tell William Ruto and Rachael Ruto. No fasting!” one Abuga Makori said on Twitter.
“And no weapon that was fashioned against President Ruto prospered…the president said.. prayers and fasting pushed them to the finish line,” one Pato commented on Twitter.
