Members of Boigesa Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church in Bobasi, Kisii County, were left bewildered after thieves broke into their church, cooked and stole equipment.
An elder in the church, Tom Mobosa, said they were shocked on reporting to church on Saturday morning only to find the thugs cooked bananas and ate them before stealing utensils, a microphone, a guitar, two speakers and a bag full of maize.
Mosoba added that they gained access through a gap between a lintel and a roof as others used a hack saw to break the main door.
Henry Mirera, the area chief, said one suspect has been arrested and is detained at Itumbe Police Station.
“The suspect was nabbed at the scene and has been handed over to criminal investigation officers to probe him,” he said.
