Chwele KMTC students protest demanding transfer of principal

The students have been plotting the strike for months now.

Kenya Medical Training College students at Chwele Campus in Bungoma County went on a rampage on Monday, demanding the immediate transfer of their school principal.

The student accused the school’s boss, Promina Muhia, of having poor leadership skills.

They lamented that Ms. Muhia has been chasing away lecturers who were very skilled and would help them with their studies, and that the institution has only remained with four fully trained dons who are overwhelmed by the population of the school.

The students, who have been plotting the strike for months now, said the principal has been ignoring their pleas and it is high time she steps out.

“We don’t have water in the institution and are forced to drink water from the borehole, which is not safe, and also we don’t have enough furniture, hence forced to share while attending classes, which makes us not to concentrate,” one of the students said as quoted by West FM.

The learners now want the Ministry of Education to intervene and replace the principal.
