A thug that had broken into the house of a police officer was forced to escape and hide in the house of a county commissioner in Bungoma town.
The suspect, Joseph Simiyu, escaped after a police officer who was coming from his workstation found him leaving his house with a gas cylinder and a woofer stuffed in a sack.
The cop raised an alarm after handcuffing the suspect, which was answered by other police officers who fired in the air, forcing the suspect to seek refuge at the county commissioner’s house, which is in the same compound.
The suspect ran and locked himself into assistant county commissioner Christine Wafula’s house.
He was arrested.
No one was injured in the incident.
