The families of students at Mukumu Girls High School who lost their lives as a result of food poisoning will receive Sh400,000 each as compensation.
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu told the Senate that a total of Sh1.2 million will be set aside for the families of the three deceased students.
No criminal charges will be pressed against former Principal Fridah Ndolo or the school administration, Mr. Machogu further told the Senate in response to a query posed by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.
“The multi-agency team, which has been receiving regular reports, has not found any evidence to hold anyone accountable or take legal action against them,” the CS said.
