Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula believes the MPs will pass the Finance Bill 2023 and that Kenyans should not expect much from them.
Savula, speaking during the 60th Madaraka Day celebrations at Bukhungu Stadium, cautioned Kenyans, saying that MPs have in the past skipped such crucial house sittings, leading to their success.
He reiterated that a lack of quorum would help the bill sail through.

”It is really sad that in Kenya, lack of quorum will see the bill passed; do not depend on MPs to disapprove the Finance Bill,” the former Lugari MP said.
The Parliamentary Finance and National Planning Committee, chaired by Molo MP Moses Kimani Kuria, is tasked with the preparation of a comprehensive public participation report to be tabled in Parliament for debate.
The controversial bill intends to introduce a compulsory 3 percent House Levy, a statutory deduction from civil servants’ salaries, a move criticized by Kenyans from all walks of life.
