Residents of Chamasilihi Village in Vihiga County are in shock after robbers broke into a and slaughtered chicken, prepared a meal with ugali and ate it before proceeding to steal 14 more.
Mama Jane Mudanya is now counting losses after she came back from Kisumu where she had traveled and found her chicken missing.
“I was welcomed home to a rude shock after realizing 14 hens were missing. When I entered the kitchen there was an aroma of chicken stew,” she said, as reported by citizen.digital.
Mama Mudanya had raised the poultry for seven months and were now ready for selling to earn a profit to help her pay her children’s fees.
“Young men in this area are lazy. They have refused to work expecting to reap from people’s seat. They should style up,” she added.
She is now calling upon security agencies in the area to beef up security and the county government to offer employment to the youth to keep them off criminal activities.
