Bungoma County seems not to be short of Messiahs even after the mysterious disappearance of Jehovah Wanyonyi, whose followers regarded him as the immortal savior of the world.
Here comes again Mwalimu Yesu, a man who claims to have been sent by God to deliver humankind from sin.
His church is in Tongaren in Bungoma County and his followers regard him as their Messiah with supernatural powers to heal the sick and perform miracles.
Mwalimu Yesu, a father of eight, says his ministry goes beyond the frontiers of Bungoma County.
“Many ask if I’m the Jesus or another one. I am the Jesus Christ. I am the one. Jesus belongs to the whole world,” he said.
He has 12 disciples, just like the biblical Jesus Christ.
“I believe this is Jesus. He heals and answers our prayers,” one of his believers say.
