Lugari Ward’s Greenland FC will clash with Maturu Taifa Star FC from Lwandeti Ward after both teams sailed through the Lugari NG-CDF Football Tournament semis held today at the Archbishop Njenga Girls sports ground in Chekalini Ward.
Greenland FC qualified after defeating Mlimani FC of Mautuma Ward in the first semi-final match after a 1-1 draw before the match headed to penalty shootouts, which Greenland FC won 3-2.
Maturu FC, on the other hand, defeated Ajax FC of Lwandeti Ward 2-1. The Maturu team sealed the victory towards the end of the match.
Greenland and Maturu will lock horns in the final on Wednesday at the Matete sports ground as the month-long competition organized by the area MP Nabii Nabwera comes to a close.
