Member of the National Assembly for Lugari, Nabii Nabwera, is meeting principals of 34 schools in the constituency for a 4-day academic conference.
The event, which began on Thursday at the Great Lakes Hotel in Kisumu City, seeks to address a number of issues affecting the education sector in the constituency under the theme “Enhancing Effectiveness and Efficiency of Education in Kenya.”
The first-time lawmaker officially launched the conference today. In his speech, he confirmed that more teachers have been added to Kivaywa Boys and St. Cecilia Lugari Girls secondary schools, according to a message sent to WhatsApp groups by the head of his communication team.
The meeting, dubbed the Lugari KESSHA Conference 2023, is also attended by stakeholders in the education sector, including the Kenya Secondary Schools Head Teachers Association (KESSHA) chairperson, Kakhi Indimuli.
The conference will focus on KSSHA’s agenda and business, the KCSE 2022 results, stress management among the heads of schools, and emerging issues in teacher management.
The event will then be concluded by a benchmarking activity on Sunday.
