A man in Bungoma has elicited mixed reactions after finishing two kilograms of ugali in just 35 minutes.
Tony Wamalwa from Marakaru-Tuuti in Kanduyi Sub-County floored his closest rival, Anthony Nyongesa, after clearing the meal made up of ugali and omena in a fiercely contested a village eating competition.
As is the norm in the yearly competition, the food was prepared in the open, as all spectators and participants witnessed, and served hot.
The competitors were given 35 minutes before the winner was announced.
The winner is given maize seeds and fertilizer for planting.
Apart from that, Mr. Wamalwa was also awarded tree seedlings.
