Busia: Kenya Prison constable dies two weeks after pass out ceremony

His condition during training was unstable, a colleague said.

A Kenya Prison constable from Busia County has passed on just two weeks after the pass out ceremony that comes after nine months of rigorous training.

Edwin Otwane, 23, was confirmed dead on Tuesday on arrival at Kenyatta Hospital after suffering an illness.

Mr. Otware, during his training, had been admitted of leukemia and was later released from hospital and was able to attend his pass out ceremony at the Thika Prison.

Alex Lumiti, his fellow police constable detail 2022, said he was in good condition during the pass out ceremony on Friday December 2, 2022.

His death comes just when he had been posted at the Ruiru Kenya Prison to begin his service for the nation.

Burial arrangements are underway at his home in Busia County.
