In a shocking twist, detectives from the Criminal Intelligence and Research Bureau have uncovered what is believed to be the body of missing Mombasa-based taxi driver, Victoria Mumbua Muloki.
This discovery comes just days after earlier media reports suggested that Mumbua had been found injured and unconscious in Migori County and was set to be airlifted to Mombasa for treatment.
The body, believed to be Mumbua’s, was found at the Nairobi City Mortuary, following crucial information extracted from the main suspect during an intense interrogation session.
Investigators revealed that the body was discovered in a thicket along a roadside in Lari, Kiambu County, and had been booked into the mortuary on September 29.
Mumbua, who had been missing since September 27, vanished after accepting a ride request from a client who wanted to travel from Mombasa to Samburu. Her disappearance sparked widespread concern and a search effort spanning multiple counties.
The main suspect in the case, believed to have committed similar crimes in the past, led detectives to the location where the body was found, adding a dark twist to the unfolding investigation.
Victoria Mumbua’s family has been notified and is expected to travel to Nairobi to confirm the identity of the body. A post-mortem examination is yet to be conducted to establish the cause of death.
