Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera has spoken strongly in favor of polygamy, describing it as a traditional African practice that strengthens families and contributes to the wellbeing of society.

Speaking during a past interview with TV47, Nabwera, who is married to more than one wife, dismissed monogamy as a European concept imposed on African communities.

“From where I sit, polygamy is the way to go. It gives us an opportunity to coexist as a society. Our history as Africans is not tied to monogamy,” he said.

The MP, known for his outspoken views on cultural identity, positioned polygamy as a system that nurtures communal living and reflects authentic African heritage.

Away from politics, Nabwera shared that reading and tending to his livestock are among his favorite pastimes. He also revealed that he has traveled to 112 countries and finds joy in spending time with children more than anything else.
