Man turns against friend, stabs him to death during chat over porridge in Webuye

The man was killed at his sister’s business place.

A man turned against his friend and allegedly stabbed him to death as they were chatting while taking porridge at a joint in Mihuu Ward of Webuye East Constituency in Bungoma County.

Witnesses told the media that Kakai Wanjala, 22, was attacked by his friend, an identified man, while they were having a talk at a joint in Lumuli Market.

The suspect is said to have drawn out a knife and ran it into his friend after a quarrel over an unknown issue.

Phanice Juma, the owner of the business where the incident happened and sister of the deceased, said the suspect was hiding a knife in his pocket.

“I didn’t understand the intention of that man, they have never quarreled with my brother. I want to ask the police to take stern action against him. This is very bad,” Mrs. Juma said as reported by West FM.

David Juma Khamala, the deceased’s father, said efforts to save his son’s life failed after he died while receiving treatment at the Lugulu Mission Hospital.

Magemo Location assistant chief Joseph Wafula confirmed the incident and said the suspect was being held at Webuye Police Station pending arraignment in court.
