ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi has issued a stern warning to COTU boss Francis Atwoli who is on the run to convene a mega meeting at the Bukhungu Stadium which he says will determine the fate of Mulembe Nation ahead of the 2022 general elections.
While confirming that he won’t attend the much-hyped meeting, Mudavadi said Atwoli has no business calling for political meetings when he is not seeking any elective post.
“We must observe democracy. We don’t want to hear that there is a meeting where someone who is not seeking any political seek comes up and says, now I want to determine who shall be the MP in what constituency, who shall be the MCA, who shall be the governor in which county, who shall be the women’s rep, who shall be the senator, and who shall be the President in this country, No,” the fiery ANC boss said.

Mudavadi, who believes that the meeting is meant to lobby the region behind Raila’s candidature, insisted that he will not be pushed into supporting any presidential aspirant.
“Kenya is a democratic country and we are approaching the elections. The votes that will count are those that will be cast on the ballot by the electorate. Anything else is empty talk,” he reiterated.
Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula supported Mudavadi’s sentiments, saying that there is no section of the law that allows ethnic primaries to determine candidates.
“Wewe mzee (Atwoli) chunga sana maisha yako. Usicheze na watu. We oppose standing by selfish characters who think that by being on the frontline they are better than others,” he said.
