Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera, in his latest push for quality education in his constituency, has promised to pay fees for every day scholar who will be admitted at Mukuyu Girls Secondary School.
The MP has directed the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) committee to release KSh400,000 for all Form One students who will join the school in the 2023 intake.
“I don’t want to see Mukuyu Girls crampling. A wife to one of the governors went to this school, meaning it is a school that can produce better results,” Nabwera said during a public participation forum at Mlimani Church of God in Mautuma Ward.
The MP added that he will use 88% of the CDF fund to lay down projects meant to boost education levels in the constituency, including the construction of modern classrooms.
He assured residents that no single coin would be misused and urged teachers to pull up their socks for better results in schools.
“Lugari teachers, development goes hand in hand with responsibility! Do your part, and I’ll do mine. Now, recruitment of teachers in Lugari has improved from 101 to 200, you have my support,” he said.
The public participation, which sought to understand the needs of residents before allocating CDF to projects, was concluded on Wednesday.
