Tensions within Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera’s family have once again courted attention after a public exchange involving his wife, Daisy Nyongesa, and his niece, Whitney “Stesher” Mwenje.

The disagreement unfolded on Facebook when Whitney openly rejected Daisy’s congratulatory gift following her recent graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

In a pointed response to Daisy’s Facebook post, Whitney acknowledged the gesture but made it clear she preferred to keep her distance.

“Your best wishes are acknowledged. I however wish to maintain the relationship as has been. You had me get cyberbullied on very flimsy grounds for simply being your niece but it is well. I survived the mental torture and ridicule. I got the MEMO and I am strictly sticking to my lane. Best wishes,” Whitney wrote.

The post sparked mixed reactions from online users, including members of the Nabwera family.

Nabii Nabwera’s sister, Nasipwony Wamatakala, jumped to Whitney’s defense, taking a swipe at Daisy in the comments.

“My toto pretenders are worse than murderers. We have been trolled on these streets and beyond. We are not taking crap anymore. Lanes be lanes,” she said.

However, not everyone supported Whitney’s approach. Brendar Nafuna Jumbo expressed concern over airing family grievances online.

“Family issues must be kept family, not on social media. You aren’t shaming her but your Uncle Nabii, since she is still his wife. With my little knowledge, you could call for a family gathering to discuss this, not us, since we don’t know where it all began,” she commented.

This incident comes amid ongoing social media clashes involving Daisy, who has reportedly targeted perceived adversaries, including members of her husband’s family. Recently, Daisy publicly called out Nabii’s sister after an altercation involving Daisy’s son during a church service.

The public nature of these disputes has left many questioning whether the escalating family feud could impact Nabii Nabwera’s public image and leadership. Meanwhile, calls for a private resolution to the family drama continue to grow louder.
