Natembeya’s plan to settle the landless in ADC farms

Natembeya said he’ll negotiate with the national government on settling the landless.

Former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner and Trans Nzoia gubernatorial candidate George Natembeya has stated that his administration will negotiate with the national government to edge part of the idle Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) land to settle all tribes in Trans Nzoia County rather than leasing it to sugarcane growers.

Speaking at Nyakinywa farm in Cheranganyi Constituency, where he issued title deeds to thousands of locals, Natembeya said his administration will create more space to accommodate more business people through town expansion.

He took the opportunity to challenge electorates to reject the Ford Kenya leadership in Trans Nzoia that has failed for a decade.

He called on electorates to come out in large numbers early in the morning on August 9th, 2022, and vote for him as the second Trans Nzoia governor and Raila Odinga for the presidency.

Natembeya further asked electorates to maintain peace before and after general elections, saying Kenya is bigger than an individual and therefore using jobless youths to cause chaos during the election will not sort out the problems Kenyans are facing.

He challenged residents not to accept outsiders from Uasin Ngishu and Elgeyo Marakwet who are spreading hate to the people of Trans Nzoia.

His sentiment was echoed by human rights activist, Yonah Chebus, who said the outcome of the elections, especially the presidential seat, should not divide Kenyans.

Yonah Chebus said Kenyans are not ready to witness what happened in 2007/2008 when innocent Kenyans lost their lives.

He appealed to all the presidential candidates to accept the outcome and move on. He also challenged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to hold credible elections that do not result in nullification, as happened in the previous general election.
