The daughter of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Tamara Wetang’ula, tied the knot with her fiancé, Anthony Njoroge, in a colorful wedding ceremony held on Friday.
The highly anticipated event attracted top dignitaries from across the country, including President William Ruto, who made a special appearance to celebrate with the family. Also in attendance were Cabinet Secretaries Rebecca Miano and Dr. Deborah Barasa, along with several Members of Parliament and prominent public figures.

The wedding, held at an upscale venue in Nairobi, was a blend of elegance and cultural pride. It followed a traditional pre-wedding celebration that took place two weeks earlier at the Wetang’ula family home in Bungoma County. That event was marked by vibrant green-themed African attire, celebrating both unity and the richness of Kenya’s cultural heritage.

Speaker Wetang’ula, visibly emotional, expressed his joy at seeing his daughter begin a new chapter in her life. In his message to the newlyweds, he emphasized the power of love and the importance of building a home grounded in mutual respect, patience, and shared values.

“This day marks not just the coming together of two hearts, but the unity of two families and traditions,” Wetang’ula said in his remarks. “We wish Tamara and Anthony a future full of peace, love, and purpose.”

The presence of President Ruto was a highlight of the occasion, symbolizing the strong ties between Kenya’s political elite and the Wetang’ula family. The president took time to greet guests and extend his congratulations to the couple.
