Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale sent a buzz in the Senate this afternoon during his congratulatory message to the newly elected Speaker of the Senate, Jeffer Amason Kingi.
Khalwale, who has come back after five years in the cold when he was thrown out by Cleophas Malala in 2017, outlined his relationship with the new Speaker and termed him as a man with enough experience to serve the country.
Amason Kingi, the immediate former governor of Kilifi County, won the Senate seat after garnering a total of 46 out of 67 votes in an election that was dramatically boycotted by a section of senators from the Azimio la Umoja camp.
Amason Kingi was sworn in immediately after winning together win his deputy, Murungi Kathuri.
All the 47 Senators and their nominated counterparts have also been sworn in.
