Lugari teacher collapses, dies under unclear circumstances

A teacher from Lugari Constituency in Kakamega County collapsed under unclear circumstances and died while being rushed to hospital on Friday.

Maureen Nyamusi, a teacher of English and Literature at Ayub Savula Senior School, reportedly collapsed at her rented house in Manyonyi and later died while being rushed to hospital, according to a witness.

Nyamusi, a resident of Lumakanda Ward, hailed from the Munyuki Junction area, where she was well known within the local community as the daughter of retired teacher Mwalimu Abilah.

Her body has since been moved to Village of Hope Funeral Parlour, where it is being preserved as burial arrangements begin.

Colleagues, students, and residents have expressed shock and grief over her untimely death, describing her as a dedicated and committed educator.
