The body of an unidentified man was discovered decomposing in a sugarcane plantation in Mlimani village in Chekalini Ward, Lugari Constituency, Kakamega County.

According to witnesses, the body was found on Monday morning by workers who were weeding the sugarcane. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, having darkened, and was difficult to identify.

Disturbingly, the head of the deceased had been severely damaged, with indications that parts of it had been eaten by wild animals.

The owner of the plantation stated that he did not recognize the man and had never seen him in the area before.
