Man recounts ordeal after uncle accused him of ‘bribing doctors to steal his brain’

A man identified as Brian Olucho has shared a deeply emotional account of how an attempt to save his uncle’s life after a road accident turned into a painful family rift, after the uncle allegedly accused him of bribing doctors to “steal his brain” following surgery.

In a personal narration, the man said the incident happened on January 11, 2022, when his father’s elder brother was involved in an accident and rushed to hospital unconscious.

He explained that a nurse, who was a friend and familiar with his family name, contacted him after finding identification documents on the patient. The nurse initially believed the injured man was his father.

“I rushed in, got his head surgery done to remove a blood clot from his brain, and nursed him until he woke up,” he said.

According to him, he took responsibility for ensuring the uncle received urgent medical attention, including a procedure to remove a clot from the brain, and remained by his side during recovery. However, he claims that tensions arose immediately after the uncle regained consciousness.

“The moment he opened his eyes, he shouted that I had bribed doctors to steal his brain and that what remained was insufficient,” he alleged.

The man further said that despite surviving the accident and receiving care, his uncle later developed hostility towards him, deepening long-standing family tensions he described as painful and destructive.

He expressed frustration over the experience, saying it had left him disillusioned about family relationships and human nature.
