A 29-year-old woman in Harare, Zimbabwe, has been remanded in custody after allegedly biting her husband’s testicle during a domestic dispute sparked by suspicions of infidelity.
Sharlene Rutendo Munenga appeared before a Harare magistrate facing a physical abuse charge following the alleged incident at the couple’s home in Dzivarasekwa 2 on September 9, 2026.
According to the state’s case, Munenga confronted her 33-year-old husband, Munyaradzi Pondi, after receiving information that he was allegedly having an affair with another woman.
The confrontation reportedly escalated into an argument after Munenga was dissatisfied with her husband’s response.
The prosecution alleges that during the altercation, Munenga bit Pondi on the testicle, leaving him with serious injuries.
Pondi was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment, with local reports stating that he remained hospitalized following the incident.
Munenga was arrested and remanded in custody as the case proceeded before the Harare Magistrates’ Court.
A medical affidavit is expected to form part of the evidence in the case, according to the state.
