A Form Three student at Mo Girls Vokoli High School in Vihiga County, Laura Flora Ameu, was reportedly killed during a suspected night attack at her family’s home in Lurambi, Kakamega County

According to her family, the attackers gained entry into the compound through the fence before breaking into the house where the children were sleeping.

The thugs reportedly attacked the student with a blunt object, striking her on the head before moving to her parents’ bedroom, where they demanded phones and money.

The girl’s father said he handed over his phone, his wife’s phone and money to the attackers, unaware that his daughter had already been critically injured.

After the attackers left, he rushed to his daughter’s room, where he found her in critical condition. She was taken to hospital but died shortly after arrival.

The family is now seeking answers over the motive behind the killing and has called on police to thoroughly investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

The death has also left the Vokoli Girls’ fraternity mourning, with concerns growing over the loss of students and the emotional toll on the school’s leadership and community.

Principal Hellen Mabese has been described as facing another deeply distressing loss, with colleagues and well-wishers calling for prayers and emotional support as the school mourns the death of another student.
