Zawadi Nyong’o, daughter of Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, has celebrated another milestone in her relationship with her wife, sharing affectionate photos of the couple on social media.
Zawadi marked what she described as their 49th monthiversary on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, posting photographs showing the couple enjoying drinks together at what appeared to be a restaurant or outdoor entertainment setting.
In the accompanying Instagram message, Zawadi affectionately referred to her wife as “Habibi” and “my person,” expressing her love and appreciation for their relationship.
“Happy 49th monthiversary, Habibi! Thank you for being my person. I love you a tiny teeny bit!” she wrote.
The latest celebration comes less than a month after Zawadi publicly marked their fourth wedding anniversary. On August 8, she shared another tribute to her wife, describing her as her best friend and thanking her for standing by her through difficult moments.
“Thank you for being my wife—my ride or die, my bob, my best friend,” Zawadi wrote in the earlier anniversary message.
Zawadi, who is also the sister of Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, attracted considerable attention in October 2025 after publicly speaking about her LGBTQ+ identity and sharing a photograph of herself with her partner and their child.
Her decision to publicly share aspects of her family life has continued to generate discussion in Kenya, where same-sex relationships remain a sensitive and highly contested social issue.
Despite the attention surrounding her personal life, Zawadi has continued to share milestones with her followers, including celebrations of her relationship and family.
