A family in Mahiga area, Marakusi Location in Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County, has launched a search for their missing relative, who disappeared under unclear circumstances.
Rose Nasimiyu Ondeko, widely known as Mama Akoya, is reported to have gone missing in the early hours of Thursday, April 2, 2026, sparking concern among her family members and the local community.
According to the family, efforts to trace her whereabouts since her disappearance have been unsuccessful. Her eldest son, Christopher Akoya, is now leading the search and has made a public appeal for assistance.
The family is urging anyone who may have seen her or has any information that could help locate her to come forward and report to the nearest police station or contact them directly.
“We are appealing to anyone with information to help us find her and bring her back home safely,” said Christopher.
