AFC Leopards defeat Ulinzi Stars to stay in title hunt

AFC Leopards kept their FKF Premier League title hopes alive after securing a convincing 2-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars in a closely contested match played at Nyayo National Stadium on Wednesday.

Ingwe put up a dominant display despite difficult wet conditions, showing urgency from the opening whistle as they searched for an early breakthrough.

Their pressure finally paid off in the 43rd minute when Kelly Madada found the back of the net to give AFC Leopards a deserved lead heading into the halftime break.

Ulinzi Stars attempted to respond in the second half but struggled to break down a disciplined Leopards defense that remained compact throughout the match.

AFC Leopards continued to press forward and sealed the victory in the 82nd minute when Emmanuel Lwangu calmly finished to double the advantage and put the result beyond doubt.

The win is a major boost for Ingwe as they continue their push at the top of the table, keeping pressure on league leaders Gor Mahia with only a few matches left before the season concludes.

For Ulinzi Stars, the defeat adds to their struggles this season as they remain in danger of slipping further down the standings.

AFC Leopards will now shift focus to their next fixture as they seek to maintain momentum in their quest for a first league title in years.
