Former Nominated Senator Daisy Nyongesa has sparked renewed speculation over her marriage with Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera after sharing a reflective and emotionally charged message addressing divorced women.
Nyongesa, who has been residing at her parents’ home in Likuyani for close to a year, has remained silent on the status of her marriage. However, growing public curiosity has been fueled by her absence of posts about the MP, coupled with the pair noticeably skipping each other’s recent birthdays online.
The former nominated senator also found herself at the center of controversy in 2024 after she confronted a woman she accused of flaunting a lavish lifestyle allegedly funded by her husband, blaming her for fueling turmoil in her marriage and family.
In her recent post, Nyongesa delves into the emotional realities faced by women navigating separation at a relatively young age.
“Being widowed or divorced between the ages of 30 and 45 can leave many women vulnerable,” she wrote. “As a widow, you may encounter individuals who disguise themselves as supporters while taking advantage of your situation.”
She further reflected on the pressures faced by divorced women to validate themselves after a failed relationship.
“As a divorcee, there is often a need to prove you were not at fault. This can lead to rushed decisions—whether it’s entering another marriage or overinvesting in a new relationship in a bid to make it work,” she added.
Nyongesa also highlighted how many women find themselves trapped in unhealthy relationships, enduring mistreatment in an attempt to salvage what is already broken, only to eventually walk away.
“We attract what we are, not what we want. Our energy, mindset, and character shape our reality, drawing similar people and situations into our lives,” she noted, urging women to be cautious of those who appear during moments of vulnerability under the guise of compassion.
While she did not directly address her personal situation, the tone and timing of her message have only intensified speculation surrounding her relationship with Nabwera.
