Kakamega woman dumps lover to receive husband who went missing for 17 years

Family suspected the man died in the 2007/2008 post-election clashes.

A woman in Lurambi in Kakamega County has left the whole village in shock after dumping her lover to happily receive her husband who went missing for 17 years.

The villagers of Emukoyani Village in Butsotso Ward joined the woman in celebrating the return of the man of the house, 42-year-old Boniface Moi Muyeshi, who showed up unannounced.

“He left home for Nairobi back in 2006. He left his family behind never to be seen again,” a resident told the media.

“We suspected that he had died during the 2007/2008 post election skirmishes,” his relative Fredrick Witumbele said.

A ram was slaughtered as a traditional welcoming gesture for the long-lost son.

Muyeshi’s wife, Agripina Mulupi, announced that he had send away the other man he has been staying with and with who they sired one child to receive her beloved husband.

“I settled down with someone else as I was not able to raise these children on my own,” Agripina said.

“I had to send my current lover away as the man of the house had made a return. We will make plans on how to co-parent,” she added.
