A middle-aged resident of Chekalini Ward in Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County, found himself hospitalized due to overeating.
The father of seven reportedly consumed an extensive array of food and beverages, including five liters of tea, githeri (posho and beans), meat, chicken, ugali, four bottles of soda, and groundnuts, during a children’s ordination event in Koromaiti village.
His excessive indulgence led to severe discomfort, prompting his wife to rush him to the Koromaiti Dispensary, fearing he might have been poisoned.
“Medical professionals at the dispensary diagnosed the issue as a critical case of overeating and swiftly transferred him to the Webuye Sub-County Hospital,” a witness told WKT.
Writhing in pain and experiencing difficulty in breathing, the man underwent medical intervention at Webuye, where the excess food was flushed out. Subsequently, he was discharged from the hospital.
